How To Apply Highlighting Colors To Your Words


Word Highlighting in Submagic


Overview


Submagic.co offers a powerful word highlighting feature that allows you to emphasize specific words in your video captions. This feature lets you choose from three color options to make key terms stand out, enhancing viewer engagement and drawing attention to important information.


How to Highlight Words


There are two ways to access the highlighting feature:


Method 1: Theme Settings



  1. Access the color palette options under the Themes tab
  2. Select one of the three highlight color squares
  3. Return to your captions and apply the selected highlight color to chosen words


Method 2: Direct Word Selection



  1. Navigate to "Edit Captions" in your Submagic project
  2. Click on any word you want to highlight
  3. In the popup menu that appears, select "Highlight Color"
  4. Choose from any color options (orange, white, black or else) in the selection panel



Additional Word Customization Options


When selecting a word, you can also:


  • Remove line breaks
  • Split text into a new line
  • Add sound effects
  • Add additional words
  • Remove words completely


Notes


  • Highlight compatibility varies by theme - not all Submagic themes support word highlighting
  • Highlighted words maintain their visual emphasis across all export formats
  • Multiple highlight colors can be used strategically within the same caption
  • Strategic highlighting helps viewers quickly grasp key concepts, numbers, or action items
